‘We Thought
We’d Never See Anti-Semitism Again’:
British PM Theresa May released a special holiday message on Sunday 2 Oct.
2016, hours before the beginning of the Jewish New Year - Rosh Hashanah. The
video message, directed both towards the UK Jewish community and Jews
worldwide, praised Jewish contributions to Britain, and renewed the British
government’s pledge to protect the community from the rising specter of
anti-Semitism.
"We remember the tremendous contribution made by Britain's
Jewish community to this country. From those who have served in the armed
forces, to those leading in fields such as business, science, and the arts. You
have given so much over the years, while at the same time, maintaining a sense
of identity, religion, and culture." PM May added that despite the belief
by Britons that widespread anti-Semitism would never flourish again, it was
indeed on the rise. "I want to ensure that Britain is a place where all
our communities can flourish, and that means stamping out sickening and
shameful hatred, including anti-Semitism, the likes of which I never thought we
would see again.” (Arutz-7)

And Radical Islam Could Drive Jews From Europe, Rabbi Warns:
The situation of Jews in Europe today is like a person standing on train tracks
while two trains approach on a collision path. Chief Rabbi of Moscow, Panchas
Goldschmidt, explained that "one train is radical Islam and Islamic
terrorism, the other train is the anti-Semitism of old Europe, the extreme
right." (Much anti-Semitism is also in Leftist political parties. RAC)
He told the EU Parliament that both are existential threats and are the cause
of "tens of thousands of Jews leaving France, Belgium, and other European
countries. This has resulted in a high percentage of people afraid to go to
Jewish events and synagogue on holidays." Goldschmidt stated that
anti-Semitism in Europe is so rampant that "40% of 1,200 Jews surveyed in
France said they avoided wearing symbols that identified them as Jews for fear
of anti-Semitic attacks." (J.Post)
Yet
Another Secret Side Deal In Obama’s Awful Iran Pact:
Yet another troubling secret side deal tied to President Obama’s disastrous
Iran nuclear pact has now come to light. The Wall Street Journal reports that
the ransom for the USA hostages Iran released in January 2016 went beyond that
$1.7 billion cash payment: Washington also agreed to immediately lift UN
sanctions on two major Tehran banks. What makes this especially worrisome is
that the banks - Bank Sepah and Bank Sepah International - were under sanction
for financing Iran’s ballistic-missile program. And those penalties were to remain
in force until 2023. Team Obama agreed to secretly lift the sanctions as a
gesture of good faith because Iran had been complying with the nuclear deal.
But, as has since been learned, Iran is only in compliance because of a series
of secret technical USA concessions - without which Tehran would never have met
the deadline for sanctions relief. Its continuing ballistic-missile program
also violates the spirit of the agreement.
It’s also come out that Obama agreed to
lift sanctions on Air Iran imposed for ferrying weapons and supplies for the
Revolutionary Guard. And that yet another side deal relaxes key restrictions on
Tehran’s nuclear program in a decade, rather than the original 15 years. Not to
mention that Iran was given the right to “self-inspect” its Parchin military
base, where nuclear detonators were built. None of these were disclosed by the
White House; reporters had to dig them up. And the administration’s response to
each has been to deny or rationalize it away. Sen. John McCain is right when he
says the nuke deal grows more dangerous each day and that the president is
“treating the American people like fools” - even as he seems to be getting
played by Tehran. (NY Post)
Clinton VP Pick Tim Kaine's
Islamist Ties, Ryan Mauro
Breitbart, Oct 5, 2016. www.uc4i.org
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s
newly-announced running mate, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, has a history of
embracing Islamists. He appointed a Hamas supporter to a state immigration
commission; spoke at a dinner honoring a Muslim Brotherhood terror suspect; and
received donations from well-known Islamist groups.
In 2007, Kaine was the Governor of Virginia
and, of all people, chose Muslim American Society (MAS) President Esam Omeish
to the state’s Immigration Commission. A Muslim organization against Islamism
criticized the appointment and reckless lack of vetting.
Federal prosecutors said in a 2008 court
filing that MAS was “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in
America.” A Chicago Tribune investigation in 2004 confirmed it, as well as MAS’
crafty use of deceptive semantics to appear moderate. Convicted terrorist and
admitted U.S. Muslim Brotherhood member Abdurrahman Alamoudi testified in 2012,
“Everyone knows that MAS is the Muslim Brotherhood.”
According to Omeish’s website, he was also
President of the National Muslim Students Association and served for two years
on the national board of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which the
Justice Department also labeled as a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity and
unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-financing trial.
His website says he was Vice President of
Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center, a radical mosque known for its history of terror
ties including having future Al-Qaeda operative Anwar Al-Awlaki as its imam and
being frequented by two of the 9/11 hijackers and the perpetrator of the Fort
Hood shooting.
Omeish’s website says he remains a board
member. It says he was chairman of the board of Islamic American University,
which had Hamas financier and Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yousef
Al-Qaradawi as chairman of its board until at least 2006.
Rosh Hashanah Poll: 81% Are Proud To Be
Israeli: Ahead of the Jewish year 5777
which began 2 October 2016, a poll, conducted by the New Wave research
institute, shows that more than half (59%) of Jewish Israelis describe
themselves as "happy" and 33% describe themselves as "in the middle,"
with only 8% saying they are unhappy. Asked if Israel is a good country in
which to live, 69% of respondents replied in the affirmative, and when asked
explicitly whether -- given the stabbing attacks of the past year -- they feel
safer in Israel or abroad, 75% answered that they feel safer in Israel. On the
question of whether they feel their personal safety had increased or fallen
this past year, 61% said it has remained the same. The poll, which is conducted
every year before Rosh Hashanah, serves as a barometer of public sentiment
among Israel's Jewish population. The results lead to the conclusion that
Israeli citizens are quite satisfied with their lives. (Israel Hayom)

Minister Ayelet Shaked advised the American government to focus on the crisis
in Syria instead of housing in Israel. She
criticized the American government Thursday in response to a statement released by the US
State Department on Wednesday which criticized Israel's plan to
build in Judea and Samaria.[1]
In an interview with Army Radio Shaked
said, “The Israeli government is doing the right thing. The reaction of the
American administration is out of proportion. I advise the American government
to focus on how it will save lives in Syria instead of releasing a statement
about the construction of a few homes.”
Shaked was responding to the statement issued
by the Obama administration on Oct 5 which “strongly” condemned Israel for plans
to construct housing on government land in Judea and Samaria, saying it calls
Israel’s commitment to a negotiated agreement into question.
Shaked also referred to the appointment of
judges and said, “Certainly I will choose judges that reflect my own values. I
was chosen by the public to represent a certain agenda and I have come here to
make a difference.”
Why Did Obama Not Condemn
PA for Jew-Free State Demand 10-7-16
By Morton A.
Klein and Dr. Daniel Mandel
In
September, the Obama administration took issue with Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu’s criticism of the Palestinian Authority’s policy of
establishing a Jew-free Palestinian state. Mr. Netanyahu had said in a video that
“the Palestinian leadership actually demands a Palestinian state with one
precondition: No Jews. There’s a phrase for that: It’s called ethnic
cleansing. And this demand is outrageous. It’s even more outrageous that
the world doesn’t find this outrageous.” For that piece of commentary, the Obama
administration responded – not by agreeing that the PA’s policy of creating a
Jew-free state would indeed amount to outrageous ethnic cleansing, but by
ignoring it and instead pretending that Mr. Netanyahu had spoken about
building homes for Jews in Jewish communities in Judea/Samaria (West Bank). |
But
Mahmoud Abbas can scarcely be said to agree with that denial: In 2010, he said,
“If there is an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, we
won’t agree to the presence of one Israeli in it.” He said much the same again
in 2013: “In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single
Israeli – civilian or soldier – on our lands.”
Other senior Palestinian figures have made similar
pronouncements to Arab audiences (PA utterances to Western audiences are often
rather different). For example, the widely touted “moderate,” Dr. Sari
Nusseibeh, said in Arabic on Al Jazeera TV, “No Jew in the world, now or in the
future, as a result of this document, will have the right to return, to live,
or to demand to live in Hebron, in east Jerusalem, or anywhere in the
Palestinian state.”
The Obama administration has said nothing, let alone
something condemnatory, of these Palestinian statements – but immediately criticized
Mr. Netanyahu’s condemnation of them. Similarly, illegal Arab construction has
never been the subject of rebuke from this administration.
This is odd. A PA policy affirming that no Jews may live in a
future Palestinian state
is admirably explicit. It’s not about “settlements.” It’s about Jews living
within a Palestinian state. And since the PA officially demands the entirety of
the West Bank, or very close to that, this PA policy means the removal of Jews
from virtually the whole of the territory. That’s ethnic cleansing, not the
related but distinct issue of “opposing settlement activity.”
That
being the case, why then did the Obama administration refuse to condemn
the PA policy of uprooting of Jews from the West Bank, if, in fact, US policy
has nothing to do with ethnic cleansing?
Why the indulgence of the Palestinian Arabs in asserting this
policy? Because the Obama administration, while not explicitly supporting the
Palestinian policy of ending the Jewish presence in the West Bank, subscribes
to the widespread international orthodoxy that a Palestinian state cannot be
formed unless Jews are removed from the West Bank.
But, of course, if there were to be a genuine peace agreement,
there should be no reason why Jews couldn’t live in a hypothetical Palestinian
state, just as 1.6 million Arabs live as citizens in Israel.
Still less so, when Jews in the West Bank live on less than 2%
of the territory, the majority of whom would in any case be incorporated into
Israel under any conceivable agreement. They also constitute but a fraction of
the population and in no way therefore threaten the Palestinian Arab
preponderance there.
In practice, however, everyone knows, though few say publicly,
that the safety of Jews could scarcely be guaranteed in an actual, as opposed
to a theoretically peaceful, Palestinian
state. The constant drumfire of incitement to hatred and murder of Jews that
has permeated the PA-controlled media, mosques, schools and youth camps ever
since the PA was established in 1994 is eloquent and depressing testimony to
this fact – as is the perpetual silence of Western leaders on this score.
To admit these realities would be to rain on the peace parade,
so they are brushed aside. This shouldn’t surprise: creating a Palestinian
state has long replaced creating peace as an international preoccupation.
In
short, in their anxiety to ignore grim, underlying realities and in their
impatience to produce a settlement and appease wider Arab opinion, Western
countries, including the US under President Obama, press for a Palestinian
state on Palestinian terms. As this episode shows, they do not appreciate being
reminded of the ugly ramifications they would rather not name.

Admits 12,587 Syrian Refugees: 12,486 Muslims, 68 Christians, 24 Yazidis, Robert Spencer
Jihadwatch.org, October 4, 2016
This
is social engineering, not a genuine response to a refugee crisis. Ten percent
of Syria was Christian before the war, and the Christians have been
particularly brutalized, often by Obama-backed jihad groups. The refugee population
should thus be at least 10% Christian. Instead, Christians accounted for less
than one percent of the refugees admitted into the U.S. Obama is clearly
pursuing a strategy to increase the Muslim population of the U.S. He may be
doing this out of the confidence that they will vote Democrat, or because he
thinks an increased Muslim population in the U.S. will end “Islamophobia,” or
for some other reason, even possibly including a generally positive view of
Muslims and of the putative benefits of Islam for a society, coming from his
upbringing. (Editor's Note: Yazidis and Christians are the ones in the
greatest danger, facing immanent genocide. They should have priority for
refugee statis.)

The
aftermath of the Oct 9th terror shooting in
Jerusalem has been very telling in regards to the continuing hostile
disposition of Israel’s so-called “peace partners,” and, sadly, of many Israeli
Arabs.
Alon Karko, a 24-year old law student at Hebrew
University, told Israel National News that he was sitting at a cafe on campus
just a mile from where the attack took place, and there witnessed a most
troubling scene.
Most of the workers and patrons at the cafe
at the time were Arabs, many of them students at Hebrew University. Karko
recalled that at one point, as news of the attack was showing on televisions,
someone came in and announced that two of the wounded Israeli Jews had died.
Many of the Arab workers and patrons
“started to sing and clap,” he said. “You could see the joy on their faces,
really.” As for what this says regarding the prospect of genuine peace, Karko
noted, “There will always be nuts and crazies who will take out a knife and
stab. But they get support from a whole sector… and I didn’t see any one of
them try to stop this.”
Not far away in the northern Jerusalem suburb
of A-Ram, well-wishers and revelers gathered at the family business and later
at the home of the terrorist, who was killed by police during the attack. “With
our spirit and our blood, we redeem you,” the joyous mob chanted as candies and
sweets were passed out in celebration.
During the attack itself, police arrested a
number of local Arabs who were filming the shooting while shouting “Allahu
Akbar.” Officials also prevented a mourning tent in honor of the terrorist from
being erected near Jerusalem’s Old City.
The terrorist’s daughter published a brief
video in which she praised her father’s brutal crime. “We’re very happy and
proud of our father,” she said. “My father is a great man.”
As usual, the political faction of
“moderate” Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas publicly praised the deceased
terrorist as a “martyr” and his act of murder as “heroic.”

Settler Population Was 385,900 by the End of 2015: The settler population in
Judea & Samaria reached 385,900 by the end of 2015, according to data the
Central Bureau of Statistics published days ago. According to the CBS, settlers
make up 4.5% of the country’s population of 8.4 million. However, their annual
growth of 4.1% is slightly more than double the 2% rate in the rest country.
For the settlers, that marks a slow-down in growth from the 5.3% increase they
enjoyed in 2009, when PM Benjamin Netanyahu entered office, and the 7.9% rate
they saw in 2000. Out of the 15,200 new residents of Judea & Samaria in
2015, 78% were babies born to parents living there. (J. Post)

Israelis across the political spectrum reacted in outrage
and defiance to a hostile resolution
passed on Oct 6th by UNESCO that rejects the historic Jewish connection
to the Holy City of Jerusalem.
UNESCO (the United Nations Educational,
Cultural and Scientific Organization) passed an absurd resolu-tion, denying the
ancient Jewish connection to Jerusa-lem’s holy sites.
By Atara Beck, World
Israel News, 10/13/16 |
The resolution, initiated by the
Palestinian Arabs, states that the Temple Mount –
Judaism’s holiest site, where the First and Second Holy Temples stood – is holy
to Muslims only.
The Temple Mount is Islam’s
third-holiest site, second to Mecca and Medina. The resolution uses the Muslim
name Haram al-Sharif,
but not the Hebrew term, Har
HaBayit. It also refers to the Western Wall – the Kotel, in Hebrew – by the
Arabic name, al-Buraq.
Ambassador Carmel Shama HaCohen, Israel’s
permanent delegate to UNESCO, said that “Israel and the Jewish people do
not require UNESCO’s or any other country’s confirmation of the special connection
between the Jewish people and the State of Israel and Jerusalem in general, and
the holy sites such as the Western Wall and the Temple Mount in particular.”
“There is no connection of another people
to another place in the world that comes close to the strength and depth of our
connection to Jerusalem from a religious, historical and national perspective,
a connection that has stood the test of 2,000 years,” he said.
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin stated Thursday
morning, just days before the holiday of Sukkot, which begins Sunday evening,
that “there is no festival more connected to Jerusalem than Sukkot. The
festivals of Israel all highlight the inextricable bond
between our people and our land, and no forum of body in the world can come an
deny the connection between the Jewish people, the Land of Israel and Jerusalem
– and any such body that does so simply embarrasses itself. We
can understand criticism, but you cannot change history,” Rivlin asserted.
“The UNESCO theater
show goes on,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared. “Today that
organization adopted another delusional decision stating that the Jewish People
have no connection to the Temple Mount or the Western Wall. Even if they do not
read the Bible, I would suggest that UNESCO members visit the Arch of Titus in
Rome. On it one can see what the Romans brought back to Rome after
they destroyed and looted the Second Temple on the Temple Mount 2,000 years
ago. There, engraved on the Arch of Titus, is the seven-branched menorah
that is the symbol of the Jewish People and, I remind you, is also the symbol
of the Jewish state today. Soon, UNESCO will say that the Emperor Titus
en-gaged in Zionist propaganda,” he quipped.
“To say that Israel has no connection to
the Tem-ple Mount and the West-ern Wall is like saying that the Chinese have no
connection to the Great Wall of China and the Egyptians have no connection to
the pyramids,” he added. “By this absurd decision, UNESCO has lost what little
legitimacy it had left.”
“I was outraged to hear of UNESCO’s vote
today, which denies thousands of years of Jewish connection to Jerusalem’s Western
Wall,” Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat stated. “Would UNESCO vote to deny the
Christian connection to the Vatican? Or the Muslim connection to Mecca?”
According to Knesset Speaker Yuli
Edelstein, the UN is “disconnected from reality and history,” and the
resolution passed Thursday “is a message to inciters and rewriters of history
working tirelessly out of hate.”
Zionist Union leader Isaac Herzog, Leader
of the Opposition, concurred, stating
that “whoever wants to rewrite history, to distort fact, and to completely
invent the fantasy that the Western Wall and Temple Mount have no connection to
the Jewish people, is telling a terrible lie that only serves to increase
hatred.”
Twenty-four countries supported the resolution,
six – the US, UK, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Germany – voted
against, and 26 abstained.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs
released a pamphlet showing the historical Jewish connection to Jerusalem,
which was distributed to all 120 permanent delegates of UNESCO representing
countries that have diplomatic relations with Israel.
Romania Opens First State-Run Holocaust
Museum: Romania, which denied
its role in the Holocaust for years, is to open the first state-run museum
dedicated to the country's Jewish community, once one of the largest in Europe
before World War II. The museum, due to open in 2018 in the capital Bucharest,
will focus on the persecution of Jews and the Gypsies, said Alexandru Florian,
the director of the National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust. "It
will illustrate the role played by Jews in Romania's modernization, as well as
fight prejudice and the denial of the Shoah," Florian said. Some 800,000
Jews lived in the country in the 1930s, making it the third-largest community
in Europe after the Soviet Union and Poland. Up to 380,000 Romanian and
Ukrainian Jews were murdered on Romanian soil under dictator and Nazi ally, Ion
Antonescu. The Romanian government rejected any responsibility in the Holocaust
until 2003, when it set up a panel of experts led by survivor and Nobel peace
laureate Elie Wiesel to look into the country's dark past. The findings
revealed that many of Romania's Jews and members of other minorities were murdered
in death camps in the Transdniester region, now part of neighboring Moldova.
Others died in pogroms or in death trains. Today, some 3,200 Jews remain in
Romania. (INN)

Jerusalem: One Nation’s Capital Throughout History: For more than 3,000
years, Jerusalem has played a central role in the history of the Jews,
culturally, politically, and spiritually, a role first documented in the Scriptures.
All through the 2,000 years of the diaspora, Jews have called Jerusalem their
ancestral home. Jews in prayer always turn toward Jerusalem. When Muslims pray,
they face Mecca. The Old Testament mentions "Jerusalem" 349 times.
"Zion," another name for Jerusalem, is mentioned 108 times. The Quran
never mentions Jerusalem even once. Jews end Passover Seders and Yom Kippur
prayers each year with the words: "Next year in Jerusalem." The Arab
rulers who controlled eastern Jerusalem through the 1950s and 1960s
demonstrated no religious tolerance. That changed after the Six-Day War in 1967
when Israel regained control of the whole city. One of Israel's first steps was
to officially recognize and respect all religious interests in Jerusalem.

Israelis Give Back To Christian Supporters
in Jerusalem March: As thousands of Christians took part Thurs. 20 Oct. 2016 in the
Jerusalem March which occurs every year during Succot, a group of Israelis –
who have been touched by this vivacious display of support – came out to
express their gratitude. Cookies for Christians is a grassroots movement that
was started a few years ago by some friends who marveled at the encouragement
and meaningful gifts that the marchers brought with them from their countries
in order to bless Israelis. “I’m so touched that they got on a plane, spent a ton
of money and they made such an effort that they packed all these gifts for us,”
said Naomi Weiss, who was one of the founders of Cookies for Christians. During
a week in which UNESCO passed a resolution that omits Jewish and Christian ties
to the city of Jerusalem, Weiss said after the parade, “My faith in humanity
has been restored. It’s so nice to feel we actually do have friends. It can
feel so dark and we are so unpopular,” she said. “And then they come and it
gives us a boost.” Weiss said the fact that these Christians return each year
is “humbling, overwhelming and inspiring.” Indeed, some 3,000 Christians from
dozens of nations took participated in the march this year. The Christians are
known for their vibrant costumes – sometimes native to their countries and
sometimes biblical – for their tireless support of Israel and for handing out
gifts to Israelis along the two-mile route through the heart of Jerusalem’s new
city. (Kehila News/Ynet)
