‘Trump
is Demolishing the Palestinian Lie’: Israeli
Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan lauded President
Donald Trump on 12 Sept 2018 saying that the decision to shutter the Palestine
Liberation Organization’s office in Washington DC was part of a larger effort
by the USA president to ‘demolish the Palestinian’ narrative of Israeli
intransigence. At the beginning of the week, the PLO announced that the USA had
ordered the closure of its Washington DC mission. The USA State Department
later confirmed the move, stating that the Palestinian Authority (PA) had
consistently refused to engage with the USA government or to support peace
talks with Israel.
"We have permitted the PLO office to
conduct operations that support the objective of achieving a lasting,
comprehensive peace between Israelis and the Palestinians since the expiration
of a previous waiver in November 2017," a State Department spokesperson
stated. Since President Trump’s, Dec 2017 announcement recognizing Jerusalem as
Israel’s capital and subsequent relocation of the USA embassy from Tel Aviv,
the Palestinian Authority has snubbed senior USA leaders, including Vice President
Mike Pence. The PA has also repeatedly refused to accept the White House’s
upcoming framework for a final status agreement. Public Security Minister Gilad
Erdan said the White House’s latest move was the nail
in the coffin for the PA claim that Israeli intransigence was the barrier to
peace in the region. “My happiness over Trump’s move is very understandable. Finally there is a leader of the world’s greatest superpower
who is demolishing the Palestinian lie.” (INN)
Palestinian organizations have consistently demonstrated
their hatred of Israel and their desire to destroy the Jewish state with
terrorist attacks, media bias, promotion of jihad, from the cradle to the
grave, and Palestinian school text books filled with lies. Peace with the
Jewish state has never been a part of the Palestinian agenda. “Whoever remains stiff-necked after
many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed - without remedy.” Proverbs 29:1
Netanyahu Praise
USA for Closing PLO Delegation Office: Prime
Minister Benyamin Netanyahu praised President Donald Trump’s decision to close
the PLO delegation office in Washington DC, saying: "the United States has
made the right decision. The Palestinians refuse to enter negotiations with us
and at the same time, they are attacking Israel with lies in international forums.
Israel highly appreciates the Trump administration's decision and supports
American actions aimed at making it clear to the Palestinians that refusing to
enter negotiations and unbridled attacks not only will not advance peace - they
will not benefit the Palestinians." (Arutz-7)
Cruz Welcomes Closing of PLO Office in Washington DC: USA Senator Ted Cruz on 11 Sept 2018 praised the Trump administration’s decision to close the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) office in Washington, D.C. “Thirty years ago, Congress correctly declared that the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and its affiliates were terror groups who had no place keeping an office in the United States. Decades of Palestinian behavior since then has confirmed the wisdom of that judgment. Today, Palestinian leaders still refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish State, still incite and financially reward terrorism, and still lash out against our lawmakers and diplomats,” said Cruz. “Until today, presidents from both parties let the PLO keep an office open in Washington D.C., which signaled to Palestinian leaders that violence and intransigence had no costs, and so hindered the cause of peace. I have repeatedly introduced legislation requiring the office's closure. I commend President Trump and his administration for taking the necessary, prudent, and long overdue step of closing down the PLO office,” added Cruz. (INN) Source for above items:

Theresa May: We Won’t Let Anti-Semitism
Win:
A
recent poll that found nearly 40% of British Jews would leave the country if Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn came to power. “This sickens
me,” British Prime Minister Theresa May said. “I do not underestimate the
threat posed by those who promote anti-Semitism, or hatred in any form. Nor the
pernicious nature of what those people say and what they stand for,” May said
at a recent United Jewish Israel Appeal dinner in London. “But I do not believe
those voices speak for the vast, overwhelming majority of people in our
country. And most importantly, I do not believe that those voices will ever
win. We will not let them win,” she told the audience of 800. “If we are to
stand up for the values that we share – then one of the things we need to do is
give young Jewish people the confidence to be proud of their identity – as
British, Jewish and Zionist too,” May said. She offered her support to the
British Jewish community and to Israel. “I have come here tonight as Prime
Minister of our country to say that I stand with you,” she said. “I stand with
Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people. And I stand with the entire Jewish
community in Britain.” (Arutz-7)
United Nations Observes
Yom Kippur
Julie Stahl
[CBN News] said: “European
Christians say there’s a "prophetic, political significance" to the
recent UN recognition of Yom Kippur. The United Nations is often known for singling
out Israel for condemnation. But oddly enough in recent years, it's adopted
some Jewish practices.
On 19 Sept 2018, the UN observed Yom Kippur
as an official holiday for the fourth time. For them that means at least not
holding any high level meetings on that day.
After extensive diplomatic efforts by the Israeli
Mission to the United Nations (with help from the European Coalition for Israel
– a pro-Israel Christian group) the UN finally recognized Yom Kippur in
December 2015.
Prior to 2015, there were 10 official
holidays at the United Nations, including Christmas, Good Friday and two Muslim
holidays. There were other recognized days, called "World Days,"
which included Buddhist holidays and the Persian New Year, but no Jewish
holidays.
European Coalition for Israel (ECI)
Founding Director Tomas Sandell told CBN News he believes
the move on the part of the UN to recognize Yom Kippur has both political and
spiritual significance. "Politically as this is a first step in giving
Jewish people the same respect as Christians and Muslims for their holidays.
But it is only a first step," Sandell said in a
written response. "Spiritually, I
believe it is prophetically significant that the nations are gradually adapting
to His [God's Biblical] calendar - His appointed times," he added.
In an earlier interview, Sandell said that Yom Kippur "has a message which goes
beyond Judaism." The Book of Leviticus says of Yom Kippur, "You shall
afflict your souls … and you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the
Day of Atonement to make atonement for you before the Lord your God…."

State Department: Why Should USA Fund
PA Hospitals?: State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert recently
said that the USA had no reason to fund Palestinian Authority (PA) hospitals,
as this funding allows the PA to free up funds for payments of terrorists.
Earlier this month, USA President Donald Trump announced he would cut $25
million in aid to six PA-run hospitals in Jerusalem, noting the funds would be
directed to "high-priority projects elsewhere." Previously, the USA
covered the costs of medical treatment for Palestinian Arabs who received care
at these hospitals. Nauert was asked whether she anticipated any sort of
blowback from the decision to cut the aid to PA hospitals. “The United States
Government does not believe that it is responsible for paying for the hospital
bills,” she replied. “Now, that may shock some people to hear that. The
Palestinian Authority is solely responsible for paying for the treatment of
Palestinians in those hospitals. “Historically,” noted Nauert, “they have
neglected to pay the bills of those individuals and other bills related to the
hospital. Our funding in the past has generously shored them up. The PA, though
has failed to prioritize paying its debts and has instead put money into
funding things like payment to families of terrorists. The Palestinians should
be funding the care of their own people in the hospitals and it should not be
the responsibility of the United States Government to pay those bills when the
Palestinians have that money that they could choose to use for their own
people, as opposed to funding the families of terrorists and those who are
serving in prison,” she said. (Arutz-7) Source:

USA Ambassador: PA Terror Compensation
Must Stop:
USA
Ambassador to Israel David Friedman reiterated on 20 Sept. 2018 his country's
demand that the Palestinian Authority stop paying the families of terrorists.
“The Palestinian Prisoner Affairs Commission has confirmed that the family of
the terrorist who murdered Ari Fuld is 'eligible to receive a monthly salary'
as compensation for his incarceration,” he tweeted. “This practice is
unconscionable and must stop if there is to be any hope for peace.” It should
be noted that Fuld, who was murdered last week in a stabbing attack at the
entrance to the shopping center near the Gush Etzion junction, was an American
citizen. Hours after the murder, Ambassador Friedman posted an announcement
saying that “America grieves as one of its citizens was brutally murdered by a
Palestinian terrorist. Ari Fuld was a passionate defender of Israel and an
American patriot. He represented the best of both countries and will be deeply
missed. May his family be comforted & his memory be blessed.”
(Arutz-7)
Pray that the Palestinian Authority will
meet with increasingly severe penalties for promoting terrorism, providing
jailed terrorists with salaries, educating its youth to hate Israel, and
glorifying terrorist murderers as heroes. PA political heads have been warned
repeatedly that USA aid will be slashed if such activities persist. In August,
the Trump administration cut more than $200 million in bilateral aid to the
Palestinians, following a review of the funding for projects in Judea, Samaria,
and Gaza. One of the main issues the USA has had with support for the
Palestinian Authority had been its stipends paid to the families of
Palestinians killed, injured or jailed for attacks on Israel. Israel and the
Trump administration, have repeatedly demanded that those payments from a so-called "martyrs' fund" be halted because they
encourage terrorism. PA president Mahmoud Abbas has refused to do so.
Kosovo Offers Israel an Embassy in Exchange
for Recognition: President Thaci
of Kosovo says his country would set up an embassy in Israel if the Jewish
state recognizes it as an independent state, media sources reported Friday 21
Sept. 2018. “If Kosovo were recognized by Israel, I would place the Kosovo
embassy in Jerusalem,” Thaci was quoted as
saying. The United States and dozens of other countries have recognized Kosovo,
a Muslim-majority country, as a state since it declared independence from Serbia
in 2008. Opposition by Russia and China have kept Kosovo from getting UN
membership, however. (Arutz-7)
UN
Secretary-General: Denying Israel's Right to Exist Is Anti-Semitism
(United
Nations) www.dailyalert.org
UN Secretary-General
Antonio Guterres told a UNESCO conference on anti-Semitism on Sept 19:
"Jews continue to be attacked for no other reason than their
identity."
"Where there is anti-Semitism, there are likely to be other discriminatory
ideologies and forms of bias - feeding each other in a cauldron of contempt....Anti-Semitism threatens all people's human rights."
"In more recent times, it is expressing itself in attempts to
de-legitimize the right of Israel to exist, including calls for its
destruction, using the pretext of the situation in the Middle East to target
Jews and Jewish symbols....All of us have a duty to
fight back."
Editor's Note:
This is a
remarkable statement by the head of the United Nations, considering the
historic anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism of this world body of nations.
Netanyahu Won't
Attend UNESCO Anti-Semitism Conference www.dailyalert.org
Prime Minister Netanyahu declined an invitation from UNESCO to
participate in a conference on anti-Semitism at the UN on Wednesday. He said:
"I have decided not to participate in this week's UNESCO conference on
anti-Semitism due to the organization's persistent and egregious bias against
Israel. Since 2009, UNESCO has passed 71 resolutions condemning Israel and only
2 resolutions condemning all other countries combined. This is simply
outrageous."
"UNESCO...must do more than host a conference on anti-Semitism. It must
stop practicing anti-Semitism....No matter what UNESCO says, the Western
Wall is not occupied Palestinian territory and the Cave of the
Patriarchs - the burial site of Abraham and Sara, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and
Leah - is not a Palestinian Heritage Site....If and when UNESCO ends its
bias against Israel, stops denying history and starts standing up for the
truth, Israel will be honored to rejoin." (Prime Minister's
Office)
